What is Saloon Rating in Merchant Navy?
- It is a job oriented course which will help you get into the merchant navy sector.
- Saloon rating course is a pre-sea training course of 6 months.
- Even 10th passed students may pursue after schooling!
- Is a certification course that will help the candidate to get familiar with maritime catering processes.
ELIGIBILITY:
Age limit: between 17.5 to 25 years.
Educational qualifications:10+2 passed(any stream with English subject).
Physical and medical standards: candidate should be physically and mentally fit.
Height-157cms, Weight-48kgs
Eyesight/Vision: Corrective lenses for eyesight is permitted. However, the maximum permissible limit is 6/12 each eye or 6/9 in better eye and 6/18 in another eye for distance unaided vision. Color blindness is not accepted.
FEES: Around 2 lakh rupees.
PROFILE:
Candidates have to perform various tasks as well as being cook or cook/steward.
Salary: Candidates join as mess boy and get promoted to Asst. steward, and further gets promoted to steward, second cook, chief cook.
